Possible Spoilers Ahead
What I’m Watching Right Now
Alright, friend, let’s talk about last week’s shows. Let’s start with High Potential.
I just love Morgan so much. She’s such a great character—full of smarts, wit, and spunk—and let’s not forget her bold fashion. I personally love her style and would love to pull something like that off, but it’s just not in my repertoire. She’s bold, charismatic, and confident, and I love seeing what she’s wearing every week. She’s a no-nonsense kind of gal, and I think that’s why I love her so much. I also really appreciate her softer side, especially with her kids and when she talks about her struggles with her father and growing up with her special gifts.
Now, let’s talk about the captain. I still can’t quite figure him out. He seems like he wants everyone to fear him and like he has something to prove—without outright saying it, even though it’s so obvious. One minute he’s being a total hard-ass to Morgan, and the next he’s flirting with her at the bar. I just don’t get him yet. Maybe I’m being naïve, but I can’t quite put my finger on his angle.
Of course, I love Karadec and Morgan together. I love how he’s stood up for her with the captain, how he continues to support her in her search for Roman, and how caring he is when it comes to her bad relationship with her father. Their partnership is one of my favorite things to watch each week.
I know there’s some craziness coming up with Arthur’s disappearance and that bad guy watching her at the bar. That moment was so interesting—the captain flirting with her, Karadec watching it unfold, and then the bad guy behind him watching her too. We know why he was there, tracking her because of the backpack he wants back. I just hope they catch him before he gets to her or the kids. I’m guessing it’ll all lead up to a big season finale cliffhanger. Who knows—maybe they’ll surprise us? Then again… it is a television show.
Will Trent
Man, I really enjoy this show. It’s been interesting to see the new season begin to unfold. I love how quirky his therapist is—it might actually work. Her unusual methods seem to get him to open up about his issues in a way nothing else has.
I also like that his biological father is around now, and I’m hopeful they can build something together based on trust and honesty. Will needs a family, in my opinion. He needs support and love. While his work family is there for him, that dynamic is changing too.
Angie marrying the doctor gives me a weird feeling, like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. I think I’ve watched too many shows where that happens. I really hope I’m wrong and that he’s genuinely a good guy. I want Angie to finally get the family and happiness she deserves.
Even with everything Ormewood has gone through, his character remains one of my favorites. He has some great lines, and I love that they’ve kept him involved even with desk duty. Franklin is also a kick in the pants. His interview with the fiancés was fantastic, and I love the trio he has with Angie and Ormewood. They work so well together.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how this story plays out.
The Rookie
And of course, I can’t forget The Rookie.
I don’t know what it is, but something feels a little off this season. I know it’s only episode two, but the flow feels different from before. I’m not sure yet if that’s a good thing or a bad thing—just an observation. I’m still looking forward to the next episode and hoping it settles back into the overall feeling of previous seasons.
Harper and Lopez continue to be a dynamic duo and always make me laugh. Chen and Bradford are definitely in a weird place, and it shows. Now that Bradford is Watch Commander, how can they still be dating? He’s her direct supervisor, and that just doesn’t make sense to me.
Nolan and Penn’s training partnership should be fun to watch, and I hope it turns out well. I really love this show and hope it continues to live up to what viewers expect.
Comfort Rewatches
I just finished The West Wing, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were so fun to watch. I kept hoping they’d bring Sam (Rob Lowe’s character) back, but I knew the timing overlapped with Parks and Rec—another fantastic show I’d love to talk about someday. I was really happy they included him in the final episodes.
I do wish they had flashed back to the episode at President Bartlet’s library dedication so we could see everyone one last time, but the ending they gave us worked beautifully. It felt like true closure, with everyone in a good place in their lives. This is high on my recommendation list for sure.
Shows I’m Looking Forward To
I’ve still got five weeks until NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and Elsbeth start back up, and I cannot wait. I’m such a huge fan.
Final Thoughts
It’s been fun catching up on these shows. I’m excited to see how each storyline unfolds and hope they continue delivering great moments. Being able to sign off for a bit and escape daily stress is something I truly appreciate.
Here’s to seeing what Morgan is wearing next week—maybe I can borrow a little bit of her style and add it to my very basic wardrobe. 😂
Have you seen the new episodes? What are your thoughts? I’d love to hear what you think—different perspectives are always interesting to me.
Until next week, friend,
